Why we built it
We kept seeing the same thing: creators with brilliant story ideas, stuck wrestling with timelines and keyframes just to animate a few text bubbles. The format was working — the tooling wasn't.
MockChats strips it back to the part that matters: the conversation. You write the messages, choose how the chat should look, and we handle the typing dots, the timing and the render. What used to be an afternoon of editing is now a quick draft and an export.

MockChats is built by Oliver Benns, a software engineer, and is made by his studio, Benns Software Ltd. He started MockChats after watching creators spend entire afternoons faking chat screenshots in video editors — for a format that should take minutes.
